Education Through Art Class Options
Education Through Art (Adult-and-Me)
Through this class children ages 18 Months - 4 years old will engage in art projects promoting their growth in fine motor skills, color, shape, number, and letter recognition, pre-cutting skills, and language development.
Each class begins with children gathering at the table to socialize and color
with their caregiver, then shifts to a read aloud connected to the project. Children work in partnership with their caregiver to create a masterpiece that they are proud of. Leave all the mess here with us and enjoy bonding with your little one.
Education Through Fine Arts (Ages 4-10)
Artists will practice a mix of drawing and painting still life, abstract, and pop art. Artists will use their previous skills from our traditional Education Through Art class to mix and blend colors, create shapes and figures, and hone their skills as an artist.
Lego Brick Creations (Ages 5-10)
Lego creators will be challenged each week to create a flat or 3D model. Each class will begin with color and shape identification and students will practice hand-eye coordination as well as growth mindset to create their model. Creators will deconstruct their models and resort their pieces into their kit by the end of each class. Instructors will take pictures of completed models to send home to families. Through this class your child will develop a growth mindset as they practice problem solving through the weekly challenges!
*Lego Kits and Baseplates must be purchased in order to participate in the class.
Lego Brick Creations (Ages 3-4)
Through this class children will begin to explore creating shapes, figures, and even numbers with Lego bricks. Students will practice counting, color
identification, and sequencing as they build using Legos.
Education Through Visual Arts (Ages 5-7)
This class will incorporate instruction on drawing and painting. Children will use their favorite objects to create their own still life paintings and drawings. They will learn about paint brush techniques, blending, and use their growth mindset to edit and revise their works. During the last class on the Fall session, families will be invited to view the student's works of art for a special gallery viewing. More details to come upon class registration.
Education Through Fashion Design (Ages 7-15)
This class will be a combination of fashion design and sewing techniques for beginners! Education Through Fashion Design will be taught by the experts, a husband and wife team Miss Daisy & Mr. Ef! Daisy and Efran have worked in the industry for 50 years, working as the head of production to companies like Macy's, Sears, Saks Fifth Avenue, Barney's, Veronica Beard, Caroline Constas, and Theory! They are thrilled to be helping raise a new generation of Fashion Design enthusiasts and can't wait to get started! We will partner with the Syosset High School Internship program and welcome high school fashion design students to assist our youngest fashion designers.
Education Through Architecture (Ages 7-12)
In this class our young architects will come up with concepts for projects like tree-houses, playgrounds, dream cities and communities. Students will learn how to create blueprints for their designs and build models using recyclable materials. This class focuses on pushing creativity to new limits!
Krafty Kids Club (Ages 6 -12)

Comics and Cartoons (Ages 6 -12)
Students will have the opportunity to create their very own cartoons and comic books! Throughout the semester, teachers will provide step-by-step tutorials on popular cartoon styles and characters, guiding students in the process of developing their unique creations. Once students have crafted their cartoons, they will brainstorm and develop a short story line. Using their imaginative ideas, they will then construct an original comic book to showcase their work. This class is designed to inspire creativity and help young artists express themselves through the art of storytelling and illustration.
Education Through Genius Hour (Ages 8 -16)
Can you imagine a class where you could learn about anything you wanted? A class where you could investigate the topics you were passionately curious about? What ideas would you explore? What questions do you have that need answers? In Education Through Genius Hour students are guided by an inquiry question, created by the student. They will work through the semester to research, solve a problem, and present on their findings.
